what does "AFTA"here mean?
For me, the most intriguing aspect is Erwin Schrodinger. Walter Moore, his biographer, quotes this passage from AFTA as giving a realistic picture of that section of the front between Austria and Italy where Schrodinger served as an officer in a gun battery during the years 1915-16, until his permanent transfer out of combat to Vienna in the spring of 1917:
