an outside perspective
Hi,
Is it ok to use a phrase " an outside perspective". Is it ok to use it in the following context;
"In this regard, there are a whole bunch of authors I would strongly recommend everybody to get familiar with. From Nikolay Berdyaev, to Kate Fox and James Billlington whose book called «The Icon and the Axe» made a lot of buzz in its time. This book is nothing but an outside perspective on russian culture."
Thank you very much for help.

I think it looks fine to me. "An outsider's perspective" also works here- it just means someone who is not closely connected to the situation attempting to explain it.
For some reason, "outside perspective" hints at downplaying the ability of the outsider to make sense of it all.
