What does the Spanish address "C/ Almonte n.o 1, 4.o D." (o is at the superscript position) mean?
the passage contains the sentence describing the address of the writer: mi direccion en Madrid es: C/ Almonte n.o 1, 4.o D.
(o is at the superscript position).
But what does this mean? Indicate the floor of the writer's apartment?C/ means Calle... But n. and D.?

Hi,
We write for the building number ''nº'', but maybe this persona didn't have this option os the keyboard.
So 1º is the number of the building, 4º is the floor and D is the door A, B, C, D, etc). The door can be written in letters like here or in numbers too ''1º 2ª''=piso primero puerta segunda.

N° 1 -> Número uno

D -> Puerta D
