Are these two sentences well expressed? 1) In that case, the air quality will go from bad to worse and we are more likely to develop diseases if BREATHING the polluted air. 2) It can reduce air pollution to a great extent. ( It seems as if the 2nd is fine, but I feel there is something odd somewhere. How do you think about it? If the expression is not right or good, please correct it.) Thank you!

The main problem is with the word BEATHING. The correct word is BREATHING
