Which one is used by native English speakers more often?
One more question: do you say shop or salon?
Ex: Barbershops Or, hair salons/ hairdressing salons?
Thank you for your help:)

Men go to "barbershops"
Everyone can go to a "hairdresser" or "hairsalon" (salon)

Barbers do men's hair, while a hairdresser (or hairstylist) does hair for men, women, and children. Shop is used for barbers - barbershop. Salon is used for hairdressers, but is often used for places that are more upscale and pricey.

These days, there are very few barbershops left in my country. Pretty much everyone goes to a hairdresser now.

I would say that "hairdresser" and "hair salon" are both more frequently used.

Hi!
Well, barbershops are only used for men. The hair salons are used for men, women and children. Mainly women and children. Therefore, those names are only used as such. However, it can be called a Hair Salon, or a Hair-Cutting "place".
Hope this helps! :)
