Intensively reared: Reared as in "raised", and it is done intensively to increase the farm's production. Cramped living conditions: The conditions (the state/quality of location, space, cleanliness, safety, etc) in which they live is cramped (= overcrowded/there is very little room compared to the total amount of things(for instance, chickens, cows, people, etc), so it is difficult or almost impossible to move around).
