Hello everyone!Which of the following sentences is grammatically correct? I'm completely confused Hello, everyone. Which of the following three sentences is grammatically correct? I mean what form of verb should be used for the word INSPIRE? Does the word AND need a comma before it? (1)【No comma version.】It gives children an in-depth insight about their past generation’s life and inspires them to relate current life to ancestors ' experience . (2)【Comma version】It gives children an in-depth insight about their past generation’s life , and inspires them to relate current life to ancestors ' experience . (3)【A version of another form of verb】It gives children an in-depth insight about their past generation’s life , and inspiring them to relate current life to ancestors ' experience . I'm completely confused :( Can you help me?

(3) is wrong because it should be "inspires". (1) is acceptable but not the best. (2) is the best way to write that sentence. You have two separate clauses and are joining them into a sentence. So you should use a comma before "and".

1. The first sentence is right. 2. You don't put a comma before 'and' 3. Inspires is right, not inspiring.
