Mir gefällt / Mir gefallen I just came across these two examples in my Busuu app: Mir gefällt deine Hose sehr. Mir gefallen deine Socken sehr. Can someone please explain to me why the verb gefallen can take these two forms? I'm sure it's very simple, but I can't think why! Thanks!

Es ist etwas anders als im Englischen: Eine Hose = 1 Teil - deshalb „gefällt“ - Einzahl (1) Ein paar Socken = 2 Socken - deshalb „gefallen“ - Mehrzahl. Oder anderes Beispiel: Eine (1) Hose = „gefällt“ Zwei (2) Hosen = „gefallen“ Verständlich?
