What does "ich muss noch kurz tanken" mean?
Is it fill up a bit of gass or fill up gas for a shot while (of time)?

In means that you have to do something first, which will take only a little while, before you can do anything else.
It's also very common to say "schnell" or "eben" instead of kurz.
Ich muss noch schnell zur Apotheke.
Ich muss eben noch meine Mutter anrufen.
