If J'taime means I like you and I love you. How do you tell the differnce?

If you're lucky enough to have a French person say 'Je t'aime' to you, you can be fairly sure that love is in the air. For a more everyday 'I like you', French speakers tend to say 'Je t'aime bien'.

Je t'aime beaucoup = I love you very much,
Je t'aime bien = I like you
We use aimer bien when we are speaking to a family member, a friend.
A person can say : je t'aime, to a very, very close person, a spouse, a fiancé, etc.
