What does 'wound about' here mean?
The house was approached by gravelled drive-ways which wound about through wide-spreading lawns and under the interlacing boughs of tall poplars.
Does it simply mean 'passing through' ?
Thanks!

The expression "wound about" means curved or twisting path.
It is the past tense of the word "wind", as in the song, "The Long and Winding Road".
It is also applied to a river, as in, "the river wound down the valley, curving to the left and then to the right like a snake".
Hope this helps
