Hey, man! I'm not a native, but I remember stumbling across 'uncanny' so many times in a HBO called Rome a while ago that I finally decided to check the dictionary. Here are some examples, not only picked from the series, but in other instances I've found it and ended up putting on my Vocabulary file: Ceaser’s advance is uncanny (His armies advances were remarkable) Details emerge from darkness with such uncanny clarity that they might be hallucinations. Weapons with uncanny precision. It worked in a way uncannily similar to how it does today. My OS's thesaurus shows this synonyms that I think fit the examples above: adjective 1 the silence was uncanny: eerie, unnatural, unearthly, preternatural, supernatural, otherworldly, ghostly, mysterious, strange, unsettling, abnormal, weird, bizarre, surreal, eldritch; informal creepy, spooky, freakish, freaky. 2 an uncanny resemblance: striking, remarkable, extraordinary, exceptional, incredible, noteworthy, notable, arresting. Have a great weekend and greetings from Brazil!

The likeness is uncanny, for instance that means that the two people in question look similar, as for the word canny in conversational English, I haven't heard of it in any phrase. Any other questions you have feel free to send me a message and don't be shy to book a class. [emoji]
