Exactly translated, it's
어떻게 지내요? (How are you spending your time?)
어떻게 지냈어요? (How have you been?)
But most people like to say
잘 지내세요? (Formal) (Are you well?)
잘 지내? (Casual) (Are you well?)

I and my friends usually say "밥 먹었어?" when we strike up a conversation with each other. Also you can say "아침/점심/저녁 드셨어요?" or "식사하셨어요?" when you speak to someone you first meet.
