Internship: A temporary employment at a company or office (such as a summer internship at a firm). The tasks vary, but are usually tedious and simple work that does not require much knowledge of the work/industry. Internships are common for college students and may be paid or unpaid. The goal is usually so the intern may test to see if they like the company, the work, and to form relationships with their co-workers in the hopes that they might be offered a full-time job later.
Apprenticeship: A period of work where the apprentice learns on the job, while working alongside an expert until he/she has gained enough experience to work alone. Apprenticeships are usually for trades - such as for electricians, plumbers, chefs, carpenters etc., - not for office work.
On-the-job training: A short period of time when one is trained while working a long-term job. May be in an office or not (such as bus drivers).

An internship has a designated period of time, that may or may not be extended.
An Apprenticeship has no definite period as to when it could end.
On-The-Job training happens as it needs to. It can happen at the beginning of your employmwnt or anytime after your are hired.
I hope these helped.

I was an apprentice machinist in the US. It involved going to school at night a few days a week after work and not paid for it. It lasts 4 years for machinist and you are supposed to get experience on all the different machines. I'd be shown some basic things on a machine and then mostly do jobs on my own figuring out things myself or asking questions. From what I know apprenticeships are a fixed time in US. On the job for a machinist would most likely be given a lot of boring repetitive stuff and you would either learn somehow, or maybe show boss your worth training.

apprenticeship: as Jeannine says. A long time of employment at low pay to learn a trade or skills.
example: plumber, builder
on-the-job-training: study or training while working, (at the same, or similar job, same employer) usually part-time, either for a short time, or not continuous.
