Grammar question
Hi, everyone
Should I say "We are talking about things that people are not sure whether ARE right or not" or "We are talking about things that people are not sure whether THEY are right or not"? Which one is right?

I agree with Elizabeth. "We are talking about things that people aren't sure are right" sounds best. (I changed the 'which' to 'that' simply because it sounds a little less formal. Both are correct.)

Hi,
The first one (just ARE) definitely sounds wrong to me.
You could probably just about get away with the second, ‘THEY’ one, but it still sounds a bit weird.
Most likely, I wouldn’t use the word ‘whether’ at all, and would most naturally say, “We are talking about things which people aren’t sure are right.”
