How can I tell my friend/coworker that I want to have a short call with them?
My variants are:
- Can we have a short call real quick?
- Can I call you for a minute?
- We need to have a short call and talk through it
- Let's call each other for a minute
- Mind if I call you real quick?

You could also say:
I don’t have much time to talk, but there’s something I want to discuss with you.
I only have a few minutes to talk.
I’m short on time, but want to talk to you about...

I think the last one will give you the least misunderstood phrase - but any of the others will be ok.
