Neal is right and here are some examples for you:
Can you raise your left arm?
I am going to get a raise of $20 a week as I have been promoted. That is a good pay rise isn't it?
I will rise up from my chair and greet her.
It is morning children, rise [ get up] and shine!
Do you think that the bread dough will rise?

Hi Daisy
Here's a couple of alternatives:
Raise - to lift something up
Rise - what something does when it is being raised
If you are talking about your salary or wages, a raise and a (pay)rise are the same thing.
