What does 'hatred' mean to you?
Some words seem to be over used.

@ Blitzy
"hate" is Noun & Verb, not noun & adjective
Hatred of a person is something you feel when you do not regard the object of the feeling as a human being... wishing death or humiliation...
but more often it is used hyperbolically, especially in regard to things

I agree. It's used too much. In the end, you don't really know what the person means.
"I hate blue cheese."
"I hate doing laundry."
"I hate you."
"I hate Country X."
And there are so many other more precise words to choose from: dislike, detest, abhor, loathe, etc.

hatred - more poetic, and only NOUN
hate - Noun & adj
