也 comes straight after the subject, and can mean "too", or "either". 我也是醫生。wo ye shi yi sheng = I am a doctor, too. 我也是英國人。 wo ye shi yinguo ren = Im from England, too. 我也在那兒工作。 wo ye zai nar gongzuo = I work there, too. 我也不是老師。 wo ye bu shi laoshi = I am not a teacher, either. 我也不是美國人。 wo ye bu shi mei guo ren = I'm not American, either. 我也不在這里工作。 wo ye bu zai zheli gongzuo = I don't work here, either. In your example you use it right. No need to listen to what others say!

it is right , here it is an adverb meaning the same Example， A：我很喜欢看电视，你呢？ B：我也喜欢。 we also have other usage on 也 ,we use it to strengthen the negation mood , meaning " not at all " Example " A：你爱我吗？ B：一点也不爱。 Hope it may help
