hi, i know some sites about idioms but the idea of my questions is to know how people ues these idioms in different countries and to compare the meanings with each other .
someone here in italki inspired me to ask this kind of questions.this man is fdmaxey i don;t know where he went.his boared gives you great ideas about idioms and slang terms ,anyway ,to learn English is very exciting .i'm in love with this language.

These phrases are known as idioms. If you type English Idioms into Google, you should find many sites that will allow you to print out pages and pages (reams) of idioms and they're meanings. It's only when I read questions like yours that I understand how difficult it must be to learn English. Good Luck!

It means they fell down sick/ dead like flies which had been sprayed with Mortein.
