What is Renren.com???? Why is everyone asking me to add them there?

It's like the Chinese version facebook. The government won't let us go to facebook, but "allow" us to to socialize on ren ren. lol It's really boring to go to. I've signed up for an account before but never really use it. lol It's a waste of time.
