Hector was a fantastic tutor. He was kind, patient, and extremely easy to talk to. One thing I appreciate about him is that he always corrected me so I could stop, repeat it correctly, and continue. He also corrected me in Spanish instead of English, which helps me not need to translate from English to Spanish. He and my wife (also Dominican) met as well. My wife enjoyed talking to him so much that she nearly hijacked my session. Another thing I appreciate is that he is willing to speak and teach Dominican-style Spanish, which is the style I want to speak when I move to the Dominican Republic. We have been having lessons with Héctor for a few months now, and he is great! He is always punctual for our lessons. He's very inquisitive and great at making conversation. We have been learning Spanish for a few years now, so he keeps to Spanish at all times for us, and we have been getting more comfortable with the Dominican accent. Lately we've been analyzing videos from the Dominican Republic (songs, speeches, etc.), and Héctor can always give us the local context behind the words/sayings.
