Welcome! I’m Teacher Amy, a passionate and dedicated online English educator with over 8 years of experience. With more than 11,000 classes taught, I’ve helped countless young learners build confidence and fluency in English, from mastering phonics to engaging in lively conversations. My teaching approach is rooted in my academic background—I hold a Master’s degree in counseling children and adolescents, which allows me to create a supportive and nurturing learning environment where every child feels empowered to succeed. Additionally, I am certified in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL), ensuring that my lessons meet the student's academic goals.教学经验
Teaching English as a second language has been a dream of mine since graduation. My main experience has been in teaching children, but I have a few adult students as well. I feel that my class is lively and interactive. I incorporate many tools to provide a rich learning environment. I tend to match my energy level to that of my students. With timid students, I tend to speak in a gentle tone to help encourage the student to speak. I also work well with lively students by keeping class fun and full of energy. My lessons are curriculum based. I feel that there is a good balance between teaching a lesson and discussing every day life. My goal is to encourage students at all levels to develop conversational skills. I am flexible in working with children to build their confidence in class. I have taught children as young as 2 and adults up to 70! There are times that the current level is challenging. I adjust and support the student as they learn. In addition, if the lessons are too simple I will expand on the material to help the student speak in a natural way. I try to use topics from every day life to help make the connections in seeing, reading, and speaking.我的教学资料

120 Hour TEFL Certificate - International Open Academy - 2022I completed 120 hours of certification for teaching English as a Second Language. The course included an introduction to basic pedagogy, classroom management skills training, and an introduction to English grammar and vocabulary. I was also taught skills in teaching reading, writing, speaking, and listening. I practiced developing learning objectives and lesson planning. I believe that this certification as well as my over 7,000 classes taught in 5 years should qualify me as a professional.
