Looking to learn English to attend university ? Are you a student in an IB program? Do you need to improve your writing for personal, professional, or academic purposes? Just looking for general English? Hi, I'm Chris, and I'm here to help YOU achieve your goals!
I'm an American teacher from Boston currently living in Madrid. For most of the last 10 years I have lived abroad in both Spain and China, and have been teaching English professionally for 9. I have a BA in English from Vassar College, as well as a Master's in English Linguistics (focusing on communication and language learning) from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. I also speak Spanish, Portuguese, and some Chinese. Welcome!教学经验
My #1 goal is to help YOU excel. I have taught hundreds of students from over 50 countries, and have proudly seen many go on to enter universities in the US/UK, get promotions at work, or simply have the confidence to talk to strangers in English! Whatever your goal might be, together we can make it happen!
Though I have experience teaching all levels, I'm best at teaching intermediate and advanced English. I specialize in academic English, and even worked as the language acquisition department head at an IB high school. I also offer intensive writing classes for both students and professionals. First and foremost, I like to tailor my classes to the individual student and their needs. Learning is not "one size fits all!" We can talk after your first lesson to develop a plan together.
My classes focus on the real, actual use of English. It's great to study the rules of grammar, but if you can't use them in a conversation, then all your efforts seem wasted. To that end, I take a naturalistic approach to learning: acquiring vocabulary and grammar through practical, guided use that is actually relevant to you and your goals!
My classes can be adapted to whatever style suits you best, but in general I like to make sure each lesson covers all four key skills so that every day you grow!我的教学资料
