Hi, I’m Anggun!
I’m from Indonesia and currently based in the U.S. I speak Indonesian, English, and Spanish, and I love helping people connect through language.
I have taught in schools in Colombia (kindergarten, primary, and middle school), volunteered as an English teacher, and also introduced Indonesian culture through food and travel experiences. These opportunities helped me create lessons that are practical, enjoyable, and culturally rich.

Learning a new language is never easy but you should be proud of yourself for stepping out of your comfort zone. We all start from zero, and it’s normal to face obstacles along the way. That’s what makes you grow! I’ve taught both online and offline for different types of learners, and I’ve learned that everyone has their own unique way of learning. My goal is to adapt my teaching style so it fits you. Teaching abroad also gave me valuable experience ,sometimes I had to explain topics using the local language, which taught me how to keep things simple and clear. I focus on conversation and dialogue to build confidence, while also using textbooks or structured materials when needed. We can learn through movies, songs, daily life, or your personal interests to make lessons engaging and practical. I believe sharing stories is one of the best ways to improve fluency. Great lesson with Anggun! We read the story of "Roro Jonggrang". Anggun had me read the story, then she translated it. Anggun picked out the important vocabulary to learn. She also explained some cultural aspects of the story as it relates to Indonesian people, which was very interesting. I enjoy Anggun's approach to using stories for learning!

Great lesson with Anggun! Anggun prepared a document on the floods that happened recently in Indonesia. I read the document, then Anggun explained the meaning and asked me questions about it. It was a sad story, but it was interesting to read about something that just happened. Anggun also did a good job of explaining the background before we read the story!

Great lesson with Anggun! We talked about travel-related topics: jetlag, delays, connecting flights, etc. After that, Anggun had me read a document that she prepared about travel in Indonesia. Next, Anggun explained what each sentence means. She then asked me several comprehension questions. Anggun also explained about "old Indonesian spelling" and about differences between the languages in Indonesia..which was super interesting!

Great lesson with Anggun! Anggun talked about her day using both old and new vocabulary. After that, we read a story about the different holidays in Indonesia because they have a lot of diversity. It was interesting to learn about the many traditions. After reading the story, Anggun showed me some pictures and videos to help bring the story to life. Anggun does a really nice job of incorporating cultural aspects into the lessons!
