Hi there! My name is Sam. I'm a 26-year-old creative communicator and continuing cultural explorer. I'm natively English, and grew up in the South-West of England, near Bristol. When I was 18-years-old, I decided to leave the UK and go and study abroad. I've been on-the-go ever since. I've lived, studied and worked in several countries including The Netherlands, Slovakia, and Spain, and for now I'm back in England. My biggest passions in life are writing/recording music, food, film, travel, and meeting new people from foreign cultures :)
Several years living, studying, and working abroad have taught me a lot about how to communicate, interact, and adapt. I am well-versed in engaging with non-native English speakers and know how to accommodate my language and approach for their benefit. Meeting so many people from different corners of the world has helped me to understand that each of us has a story to tell, and that story provides a set of lenses through which we see the world. As a teacher, I try to listen to that story, understand the student, and use it to help connect with them on a level that resonates.
I offer different types of lessons depending on what my student needs. My 'English Conversations with a Native' class is mostly conversational, focusing on improving your fluency and confidence speaking English as well as expanding your vocabulary. This can be as structured or unstructured as you need.
