A curious fact about myself is that I am of Mayan ethnicity. I currently live in Guatemala, but I went to college in the United States, and half of my heart is in Brno, Czechia. I am passionate about art, languages, cultures and books. I graduated with a degree in arts in Arkansas and an M.A. in International Relations in Guatemala. // Un dato curioso sobre mi es que pertenezco a la etnia Maya en Guatemala. Estudié en los Estados Unidos y Canadá, y la mitad de mi corazón pertenece a la ciudad de Brno en la República Checa. Amo el arte, los idiomas, las culturas y los libros. I have experience teaching Spanish and English to a wide audience. My main goal is that you start feeling confortable speaking your target language with natives, losing the fear of expressing yourself with the wide or limited vocabulary you already posses. I have been in your shoes, whether it is preparing for the TOEFL, drilling grammar or trying to understand your favorite tv show, I can give you a hand to achieve your goals. // Tengo experiencia enseñando español e inglés a través de conversaciones. I focus on teaching through conversations. For that, we walk though a topic in a socratic way, which means I ask you questions about the topic. In a way, you are being interviewed and that allows you to express yourself as widely and freely as possible, with me jumping in to aid you in developing your language skills. // Me concentro en enseñar a través de conversaciones. En clase, tomamos un tema y lo conduzco de manera socrático, lo que significa que yo hago preguntas sobre el tema. Walter is so friendly and VERY helpful. I highly recommend him to any level of Spanish learner as he is fluent in English and knew immediately what I was trying to say with my current Spanish/English sentence combinations.
I really enjoyed my lesson with him today and am looking forward to continuing to work with him as I learn Spanish!
