Hello, I'm Martha and I'm a native English speaker from Manchester, currently living in Bologna in Italy. I am a graduate of an international Masters in Gender and Women's Studies from the University of Granada and University of Bologna.
I have also lived in Utrecht in the Netherlands and in Bologna in Italy; I love travelling and living in new countries, meeting new people and experiencing different cultures! I know what it's like to try and learn different languages, and know it can be difficult and intimidating, so I want to make the language learning experience as comfortable and easy as possible for you!
My interests include film, literature, culture, politics, travel, food, music...
I have worked as a conversational English teacher for a number of years in a number of contexts, and want to make you feel as comfortable and rewarded as possible at the end of each lesson!
As someone who is currently learning Spanish, and has previously learned a little Italian and French, I know that it's difficult and frustrating at times, so I want to try and make the experience of learning as fun and enjoyable as I know it can be. I love to recommend movies, books, news articles etc. so that you can feel as confident as possible.
The best approach for me has always been to focus on what each individual student wants from the lessons, whether that's learning new vocabulary each lesson, correcting grammar, or simply having a chat.
