I am University of Cambridge CELTA certified (certificate obtained in 2006). I am an expert in Conversational English and General English and I specialise in teaching adults.
I have over 7 years experience exclusively teaching English to non-native adults in 1-on-1 lessons. I also spent years teaching English to non-native adults in classroom groups. I prepared and taught various English courses, including a course focusing on speaking skills.

When booking your first lesson with me, during the italki booking process, you can select either the "Zoom" or "italki Classroom" communication tool for our first lesson. After our first lesson, for additional lessons please select the Zoom communication tool during the italki booking process.
I am well-qualified to teach English and all my online lessons are prepared and well-organized. My lessons are for everyone who is an adult (e.g. professionals or university students) with any of these levels of English: B1, B2, C1 orC2 (Intermediate, Upper Intermediate, C1 Advanced level or C2 Proficiency level). Deborah does a fantastic job balancing engaging discussions on a variety of topics with the academic aspects of the language. Deborah is both super friendly and professional, and her ability to make complex language topics easy to understand while keeping lessons fun and relevant to my interests is rare. Even though I have homework, it’s always focused on interesting topics that keep me motivated. Lessons with Deborah are always pleasant and effective! She can quickly change the lesson plan if necessary. But she will ask what you would like to practice today: speaking or grammar (for example). For me she is the best English teacher!
