Shoko Ishida

Doing lessons with Shoko-sensei has helped me develop more confidence with speaking, simply because she is always so encouraging, patient and enthusiastic. I always look forward to all our conversations!

I had my first lesson with Shoko in September 2022. And guess what? I'm still here. That should say it all, shouldn't it? Shoko is by far the best Japanese teacher I've ever had. Especially for me, who is a very anxious person, doesn't like approaching strangers and hates talking on the phone (not good conditions for online lessons, by the way), lessons with Shoko are always the highlight of my week. She challenges without overwhelming, gives tips and hints without anticipating the answer. Her warm and courteous manner makes you feel like you're at a good friend's house right from the start instead of in a " awkward" teacher-student online situation. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced student, if you want to have fun learning Japanese, you should definitely give Shoko a try!

Shoko-san is such a wonderful teacher that really cares about her students and their progress and enjoyment of the lessons! Really looking forward to more lessons with her!

Already 25 lesson! After almost 10 years of just wasting my time on apps and whatever, I've noticed a rapid and significant improvement in a very short time taking these classes. I cannot stress enough how important it is to have someone follow your progress closely, actively motivate and correct you, and present the right level of difficulty at every step. For that, I've been more than happy working with Shoko先生, and always look forward to the next lesson.

Shoko-san is a great teacher who is always very focused, engaging and professional during her lessons, while still maintaining a fun and productive atmosphere that allows the student to fully enjoy the lesson and learn a lot! Really looking forward to more lessons with her!
