Hello everyone! My name is Marlén, I am 32 years old. I have a college degree in Spanish language and Hispanic literature, and i want to help you to learn and practice Spanish. ¡Hola a todos! Mi nombre es Marlén, tengo 32 años. Tengo una licenciatura en Lengua y Literatura Hispánicas y quiero ayudarte a aprender y practicar español. Soy una profesora muy amable, amigable y paciente, y me gusta conversar sobre muchos temas. No esperes más y ¡hablemos español! ;)
Estudié Lengua y Literatura Hispánicas, así que tengo un profundo conocimiento de la gramática y ortografía del español. Quiero ayudarte en tu proceso de aprendizaje de esta lengua, así que analizaré tus necesidades y el nivel de tu conocimiento para proporcionarte las herramientas adecuadas de aprendizaje.
Considero fundamental conocer las necesidades de mis alumnos, preguntar en qué contexto desean poner en práctica el español, y así proporcionarles las estrategias necesarias para una comunicación eficaz. Me gusta partir de las dudas o temas que aún no tienen claros, para realizar ejercicios que refuercen el aprendizaje. Sin duda, la conversación es necesaria para practicar la fluidez en otro idioma, por lo que invito a mis alumnos a que propongan un tema sobre el cual conversar. I have met 15 tutors on Italki and been working regularly with about 7 of them. While I am extremely grateful to all of them, Marlén stands out. As a conversationalist, Marlén is the one with whom I feel the most comfortable (a downside is that now I'm more "fluent" when talking with her than with other people).
As I progressed further, we got to talk about literature. Only then did I realize that she is a master of the Spanish language and Hispanic literature (pun intended - she does have a master's), not just an "equis", run-of-the-mill native speaker. Over the past year, we have read about 30 short stories together. I appreciate the time that she spends outside of the class, though admittedly she reads faster than I do :). We also talk about subtleties of the language and mistakes that native speakers make, and her explanations never disappoint me. I'm sure that she can cater to all your needs, be it grammar, structured lesson or conversation.

It's been about a year and a half since I've started my lessons with Marlén and I hope to continue learning Spanish with her!! She's always so kind and patient and we laugh so much. It's a delight to talk with her. She is simply the best. :) I'm thankful that I found Marlén on italki!

Marlén is a wonderful Spanish tutor that I've had the honor of working with over the past year. She's incredibly kind and patient, and fosters a welcoming atmosphere where the student feels comfortable speaking and making mistakes. She deftly guides our conversations to chat about a wide variety of themes and topics, keeping a steady introduction of new words with each session. However, class never feels boring or repetitive; instead, it always feela like catching up with a good friend. I've been working with Marlén for a little under a year, and my ability for Spanish conversation has improved significantly.
