Finally decided to start my long-desired goal of learning Spanish and went through 2 other tutors on here before I found Isabel and she has been a phenomenal fit for me such that I have stuck with her since 2022. * Found a good textbook that we use in all our lessons as I learn from textbooks more than just via conversation. * Provides interesting cultural tidbits about Central and South American countries when it's relevant to the topic of the day that we are reading off the textbook. * Pointed me to various useful online resources that I use when practicing on my own as I can be forgetful of how various accents change the pronunciation of words in Spanish * Incredibly patient and has no problem taking the time to repeat or re-explain things as I am a veeeeery slow learner when it comes to languages and forget fast and get frustrated very quickly with it. * Very accommodating about last minute scheduling changes which happen from time to time.

I highly recommend Isabel. You will benefit from the fact that she teaches language as a profession. She’s passionate about languages and her passion is contagious. She understands the challenges of learning a language. She is well prepared with a variety of instructional techniques and resources, and will modify her instruction to best meet the student’s needs and interests. There are many ways to teach a new language and Isabel seems to know them all. She explains things well and provides good tips for remembering what you’ve learned. She’s patient and friendly, which makes conversation easy and enjoyable. During our conversations, Isabel has shared many interesting facts about Colombia. Lessons with Isabel can go beyond just learning a language if you’re interested in feeling a connection with a people and a place. That aspect of our lessons has been an unexpected pleasure.

Excelente professeure. S'adapte parfaitement au niveau de son élève, pose des questions pour identifier les points à travailler en priorité, fais un cours sur ces mêmes points, puis termine avec des exercices pratiques. Isabel est quelqu'un de très gentille et patiente en plus de ça. Je recommande vivement ces cours :)

Wondeful first class with Isabel. Isabel is very friendly and knowledgeable about Spanish and a wide array of other topics, she is easy to talk to, but at the same time the class was well structured and she made sure we had enough time to discuss my goals and objectives and and to make plans for future classes. One of the best teachers on italki I've met! Looking forward to our future classes.
