Hello! I’m Scott, a U.S. native with 30 years of experience teaching English to adults—both online and at Japanese universities. Now based in Japan, I specialize in helping professionals and lifelong learners refine their speaking, pronunciation, and career-ready communication skills.
When I’m not teaching, you’ll find me hiking, analyzing baseball stats, or exploring cross-cultural topics (my MBA and finance background might sneak into lessons!). Let’s achieve your goals with focused, dynamic practice—certified in adult education and literacy (USA).

TEACHING EXPERIENCE: I have nearly 30years(1994-2024) experience teaching English as a Second Language at both Japanese Universities and as an Online English Language Tutor. I "hold" three(3) higher education degrees. B.A. American Literature, B.A. Economics/Marketing M.B.A. Business Administration. OTHER BUSINESS/INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE: Besides my career as an English Second Language Tutor, I have worked as a Program Coordinator at a Government run NPO Educational Agency as well as, working as a private investment and financial services consultant. I am well-versed and excel in the fields of language acquistion education, business finance and cross cultural life-style understanding.我提供的课程和我的教学风格
My "main focus" during each lesson is to help you (1) build your vocabulary (2) improve and use correct pronunciation while speaking (3) improve your voice intonation(while reading) and (4) improve your listening comprehension. To accomplish (1-4) I use a variety of free chat techniques, PDFs, internet websites, text documents, image files, etc.
My lessons are fun, fast paced and usually there is an "objective/goal" that both student and I want to achieve each lesson. At times, I will assign review homework to the student). In general, I want to create a comfortable yet educational atmosphere so that the student can relax and learn valuable knowledge during each lesson.我的教学资料
