Salut! I’m Leeroy, a French teacher with 10+ years of global experience—from classrooms to corporate boards to online studios.
My guilty pleasure? Unlocking French through *singing* (yes, really!).

TEFL - International TEFL Teacher Training - 2022The curriculum covered a wide range of topics for learners of english as a foreign language: grammar, tenses, figures of speech, etc. We were also taught different pedagogical approaches so that we'd be able to teach different subjects to different students in an efficient way. The whole course took me seven months to complete, mainly because I hyper-focused on it.

DPAFP-FLE - Alliance Française - 2006The Diplôme Professionnel de l'Alliance Française de Paris - FLE is awarded after completion of a 5 months training that covers Preparation of classes (grammar, phonetics, sociocultural, use of textbooks and other supports); Teaching (pedagogical techniques, strategies with individuals and groups, etc.); Evaluation (correction, tests, etc.); Acquisition and Reinforcement of Knowledge (in-depth learning, exposition to extra-material and immersion strategies, etc). After, one's ready to teach!

2006 - 2008
French TeacherI worked for about two years with the Alliance Française, both in Chandigarh and New Delhi, India, mainly with adults who wanted to learn French for professional reasons (many of them worked or wanted to get a position in call centres, where French was a rather rare skill). This was probably one of the hardest, yet most rewarding of my professional experiences. Students were beginners and learning was hard, but they were motivated. It taught me a lot: patience, creativity, care, etc.
2015 - 2022
Vocal CoachIf anything, the understanding of basic acoustic principles gave me tools to teach pronunciation. Additionally, mixing language and singing lessons has proven very efficient because learning and singing a song allow students to deeply internalize phonetics and grammar patterns.

Excellent lesson! Leeroy is very professional, dynamic, knowledgable and friendly teacher. I think that if you need a teacher for improving your speaking fluency, he would be perfect. He proposed really good excercises and technics for practicing speaking and in the end of the lesson, I got a written document with the lesson notes. Despite the technical issues I had with my computer, the lesson went very well.

Leeroy is fantastic. He's practical, enthusiastic, demonstrative, colorful, warm, attuned, and direct. He gives prompts that elicit generative cognitive challenge. Today, he started by asking me to construct a sentence in the past conditional. From there, we moved organically in other expressions. He gives great examples and sends notes from each lesson that I've started turning into flashcards. Wonderful teacher.

Ich hatte eine sehr außergewöhnliche Unterrichtsstunde mit Leeroy, die mich inspiriert hat. Er spricht ein wunderbares Französisch und ist ein interessanter Gesprächspartner besonders geeignet für ein höheres Niveau (B2).
