Hi there! 🙋🏻♀️
I'm Rana, a university student majoring in foreign language education. I live in İstanbul. With Turkish 🇹🇷 being my native language, I can also speak English 🇺🇸 and un peu de français 🇫🇷. I am interested in all languages and have especially loved Estonian 🇪🇪 for quite a while now.
I enjoy doing puzzles, watching true crime documentaries, organizing things at home, spending time with coloring books... and more! 🙃
One random fact would be that I collect word search puzzles from my travels! (Alongside magnets, of course.) So far, I have them in Czech, Hungarian, Estonian, Latvian, Polish, German & Serbian. 🌍教学经验

I’ve been a Turkish community tutor on italki for over 3 years now. I’ve also had some experiences organizing an English speaking club & teaching English to kids. 👩👧👦
My approach is simple — fail forward. 💪🏼
I was introduced to this stirring idea in a training course on creativity & photography, and it’s been among my principles ever since. By incorporating “fail forward” into your learning journey, you would learn from your mistakes. To learn from them, you need to allow yourself to make them. It’s that simple. My experience tells me that it creates a more sincere environment to have “conversations” 💬 rather than “lessons” 👩🏻🏫.
Of course I’ll explain things to the best of my ability when you have questions, but it won’t be in the sense of me teaching you the language. Because in our conversations, you won’t be taught the language. You’ll just practice your speaking skills and I’ll be there to accompany you. 🤗
We’ll take it easy if you want to have a chill walk, we’ll run if you’re full of energy, we’ll sit on a bench if you want to catch your breath… Oh and we can do some activities as well! 😉5.0
