Hi, I'm Lina! I'm from Indonesia. I've got a bachelor's degree in Indonesian Language and Literature and a master's degree in Indonesian Linguistics. I started teaching Indonesian Language in April 2020 and since then I have decided that I will become an Indonesian teacher because I love this job so much! I love sleeping, eating, and watching YouTube. << Sounds like I'm a lazy person. LOL >> But apart from my laziness, I work really hard to prepare the best materials for my students.
I believe language is a living thing that exists when people communicate with each other. That's why making sure students talk as much as possible is my main focus. I work to make sure you learn from real-world material and we do activities that directly relate to things you would encounter in real life. Everything is based on your needs.
I make my own material for my lessons and I give it to each of my students so you can use it to study in your own time as well as in my lessons. If you would like to see some examples of the material then you can send me a message.

Teaching Method of BIPA - Gadjah Mada University - 2016It took 3 credits in one semester to finish the Teaching Method of BIPA (Bahasa Indonesia untuk Penutur Asing / Indonesian for Foreign Student). I learned how to make a syllabus before teaching Indonesian. The proportion of the language skill must be balanced. Also, I learned how to be a good teacher in the class.

学士 - Indonesian Language and LiteratureThe studies focuses on Indonesian Language and Literature. In the third year I decided to only focus on Indonesian Language. Some classes helped me to develop teaching skill such as Language Teaching Method, Teaching Method of BIPA (Indonesian Language for Foreign Student), and Speaking Skill. In addition, some other classes helped me to fully understand Indonesian language. I learned Indonesian Phonology, Morphology, Syntax, Semantics, and Indonesian Structure.

硕士 - LinguisticsCurrently I am writing my master thesis. It is scheduled to be completed at the end of this semester. This studies focuses on Indonesian Linguistics. I learned about the smallest to the largest language component. I also learned about sociolinguistics, pragmatics, and cross cultural communication which will help me to be a professional teacher.

Lina is a great teacher. Her small-talk method is fun, engaging and effective. I love how we spend a lot of time each lesson just talking - that's fantastic practice! I learn new words in sentences, I listen to the language more when she speaks, and, of course, I try to make sentences on my own. Lina writes everything down so I can read it again and again after our lesson. She prepares very structured and clear materials. I also have homework, and when we check it, Lina asks some additional questions - so from the very beginning (I started from 0), you will talk A LOT during Lina's classes, and that's good. She is super kind and has positive energy. Thank you for guiding me on my way to learn Indonesian :)
