My name is Dany. I'm living in Phnom Penh and I graduated with a major in Khmer literature from the Royal University of Phnom Penh. I have been teaching Khmer to expats, both living in Cambodia and overseas since I was a year 2 student in university. After graduation, I became a fellow of Teach for Cambodia who are a not for profit organization focused on teaching Khmer to Secondary students. I have certainly enjoyed my educational and teaching journey and being a part of the continued efforts to solve education inequity within Cambodia. Currently, I am working on my own ed-tech project which aims to improve Khmer early literacy through technology for kids, and teaching bespoke courses.教学经验
I have teaching materials for all levels, from beginner to advanced, that can help you to improve the skills you want to acquire. I am open to listen to what my students wish to focus on and what they want to learn and improve. We will talk about it in our trail class, so that I can prepare the lessons in order to meet the student's expectation. I have multiple layers of teaching material that I have collected since I started teaching. Normally before we start our new lessons, I will review the old lesson and correct the homework together with you. In addition, we also have a conversation on our old lesson, so that the students can improve speaking while reviewing the old lesson at the same time. Last but not least, we also have homework and tests as well. But, please be reassured that I tailor all homework to the time you have available for this learning project. TeacherDuring my three-year fellowship with Teach For Cambodia, I taught Khmer Literature to underserved students in public schools. I focused on improving their literacy skills by adapting lessons to meet diverse needs and creating a supportive environment.
The progress my students made reinforced my belief in the power of education to drive change and my commitment to providing equitable learning opportunities for all.

TeacherFrom 2014 to 2021, I taught Khmer as a second language to expatriates, focusing on practical communication through immersive, interactive lessons tailored to students' needs. This experience honed my skills in adapting teaching methods for diverse learners.

Content & Partnership LeadIn the Start up, I take on multiple roles. As a Kids Content Lead, I oversee and review content to ensure it's both engaging and educational for young audiences. Additionally, as the Partnership Lead, I collaborate with key partners like Ministry of Education to create impactful initiatives. I also handle digital marketing, creating content such as parental advice videos and short topics related to kids, which help expand our reach and engage our audience.

First lesson with Dany went really well. She made a document for me that was easy to follow and I can review until our next lesson. She was also able to adjust her lesson a little bit to what I need to learn personally which is great!

Dany is a fantastic teacher and I've been enjoying my lessons.
She is very kind and patient. Her reading, writing and conversation lessons are very thought out with a strong emphasis on pronunciation and grammar. I also really appreciate her feedback on reviewing the writing and where to focus on practising for homework.

Dany is an incredible teacher! Have had two lessons with her in preparation for travels in Cambodia and from the very first she had very well organized lesson plans prepared for my beginner level, including vocabulary sets, listening practice videos, worksheets to check for listening and reading comprehension that we would do together.
She also gave me small homework assignments each class to guide me in how to practice skills and vocab learned in class at home

Going back to my Khmer class makes me very happy. Dany is a very good teacher, paying attention to all the aspects I want to improve on: pronunciation, writing etc. Just love the classes! Interested in 90 mn sessions once a week!

I love how she went over some basic ground rules and figuring out my strengths and weaknesses. She was able to pinpoint what I needed to improve on and give resources to better help my speaking and reading skills and navigate the different politeness levels needed to hold a conversation in Khmer.
