Hina Sensei has really helped me get to the next level. She sets clear expectations, provides direct feedback on how I’m doing, and focuses our lesson time on active learning that I couldn’t do via self study. Although our lessons mainly focus on grammar, those same expectations and feedback have really pushed me to improve my reading and listening skills on my own. As a result, my skills across the board have really improved in the 10 months I’ve been working with Hina Sensei.

I’ve been taking Japanese speaking lessons with Hina sensei, and I honestly couldn’t be happier. She is incredibly patient, kind, and always explains things in a way that’s easy to understand. Every lesson feels comfortable and encouraging, which is so important for speaking practice. She adjusts the pace perfectly to my level, corrects my mistakes, and gives me phrases I can really use in daily life. I can feel my confidence growing each week. Today’s JLPT preparation lesson with Hina Sensei was fantastic as always. I’ve worked with a number of good teachers on this platform and Hina Sensei is hands down the best of the best. In each lesson I get so much from Hina Sensei that I could never get on my own via self study, including nuanced grammar explanations, reading strategies, or approaches for dealing with unfamiliar words. I’m grateful that I am able to work with Hina Sensei and and I’m really happy I’ve made so much progress since I started lessons with her. There’s still a lot of work to do with only 2 months until the test, but having Hina Sensei on my side gives me a lot of confidence!

Today’s lesson was fantastic as usual. Hina Sensei continues to deliver lessons that teach in ways that I cannot get from self-study alone. Even though I’d already made my way through most of the Kanzen Master Reading book on my own, in today’s lesson Hina Sensei gave some really helpful guidance around the reading comprehension section that I had not been able to grasp on my own. Her explanations are always clear and she really breaks the important points down in ways that make me think about and truly understand the material.
