Hello, I’m Micchi, a professional Japanese teacher living on Awaji Island, known in Japanese mythology as the island of creation. I offer topic-based lessons in Japanese for B1–C2 learners who want to explore Japanese culture, food, dashi, tea, and everyday sensibility. For nearly 30 years, I have been involved in Japanese food culture, including home cooking, seasonings, dashi, umami, and tea. All lessons are conducted in Japanese only. I speak at a natural speed, explain things simply, and correct your Japanese when needed. This is not a free conversation or business Japanese lesson. Please send me a lesson request if my available times do not fit your schedule. With a focus on learning in Japanese, I introduce Japanese culture and daily food life through specific topics. Topics include traditional seasonings such as miso and soy sauce, basic knowledge of dashi made from katsuobushi and kombu, food habits, the proper use of chopsticks, and tea culture.
