Hello, こんにちは, 你好, 안녕하세요, and selamat siang! I’m Devon, a Canadian English teacher based in Bali with 20+ years of experience helping adults across Asia speak English with confidence and ease. My lessons are relaxed, conversational, and practical, more like a meaningful chat than a textbook class. I specialize in working with learners interested in life philosophies, Daoism, Buddhism, and meditation, using these topics as a natural way to build fluency while exploring deeper ideas. We focus on real-life communication so you can speak more naturally, respond with ease, and feel comfortable expressing your thoughts in English. I’ve taught students from China, Japan, Korea, and beyond, both online and in person. My background in philosophy, meditation, history, and culture, along with my work as a DJ and bar owner, helps create lessons that are engaging, thoughtful, and never stressful. You can choose topics you enjoy, from daily life, travel, and hobbies to deeper discussions around meaning, awareness, and perspective. I provide gentle corrections, live notes, and supportive feedback so you improve without losing your flow. Please note: I teach adults only and do not offer exam preparation.
