I’m a passionate ASL (American Sign Language) tutor who believes language connects us beyond words. Quiet by nature but deeply curious, I thrive on helping students build confidence in signing—whether for everyday chats or deeper conversations. My love for languages (I also speak English and Spanish!) fuels my teaching, but ASL holds a special place in my heart. When I’m not teaching, you’ll find me exploring nature or bonding with my family—though I always make time to meet new people and share the joy of signing!教学经验
I try to treat people how I would like to be treated. Hence I try to be patient, attentive, caring, encouraging and fun! Mistakes are super important in the learning process and I truly encourage it, we learn from failures, rarely from success! No one knows everything and we all make mistakes so there is no shame while learning a new language! 我提供的课程和我的教学风格
My lessons are catered to everyday conversation since that's the type most people use everyday. However this can be adjusted to the student's current needs. Making the student feel comfortable and important is key to the learning process. I consider myself more casual than professional, like a friend! Friends understand each other and want the best for the other person. I try to teach in that manner. Also I encourage that we have no sound during classes since ASL is not a spoken language. I believe this puts the student in the right mindset.我的教学资料

We had our first session and I was able to understand everything he said and, if I didn't know a word, he would finger spell it for me. He pushed me but made sure I was still following the conversation. He paid attention to what I was saying and was very patient as I struggled to make my hands say what I wanted. I learned a lot about me level, in that my comprehension level is far beyond my communication level.

Omar is an absolute treasure! Today we worked with fingerspelling (which I have always had trouble with) and connecting the signs and back and forth...he is amazing at engaging you with learning while having fun! Absolutely amazing. Thank you, Omar!
