नमस्ते ! Namaste ! Bonjour ! Hello ! My name is Rijendra Shrestha, I live in Kathmandu and I speak French, English, Newari and Hindi. I am a Nepali and French language teacher, translator and author of French grammar books. I have a deep interest in other cultures and how people learn new languages. During my four years in France, I met people from different countries who were interested in Nepal. Thanks to them, I learned many things, of which I was not aware about my own country and culture. I am sure that you already know few words in Nepali, "namaste", "yoga", "Himalaya", "stupa", "yak"... Helping my students to learn Nepali is my main motivation. I have been teaching Nepali for 7 years and French for 12 years. I am a certified teacher with a master degree in teaching French as a foreign language. I am very patient with my students and believe that everyone learns at different pace. All my teaching methods suit my students' needs. I teach in a friendly atmosphere during our one-to-one lessons. I use diverse tools to make the lessons interactive and entertaining, such as famous Nepali songs lyrics, restaurant menus, pictures from the daily life in Kathmandu, interactive online vocabulary exercises. If you are a beginner, you will be learning how to greet in Nepali, introduce yourself, ask basic questions, talk about your family, useful sentences for shopping... In a few lessons, you will also learn to make simple sentences using basic structures of Nepali and Nepali alphabets. Another great lesson with Rijendra. I have been working with him for a couple months now to learn Nepali for my girlfriend and he is AWSOME!! Very knowledgeable and has a great balance between reviewing vocab and adding vocab.

I highly recommend Rijendraji. I have studied several languages before, and I have never made progress this fast. His lessons are varied, practical, and easy to use in real-life situations. He creates a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere, which makes it comfortable and stress-free to speak Nepali, even as a beginner. I also really appreciate that he shares cultural insights during the lessons, which makes learning Nepali even more interesting and meaningful. Thank you for being such a great teacher!
