I am a native British English speaker and live in the UK (England). I retired from the University of Leeds in the summer of 2023, where I worked in Finance, and have been working part-time since then as a tutor of English. I am married with 2 adult children and enjoy different aspects of music in my spare time. I play in an orchestra, sing in a choir and play piano. I am 61 years old.教学经验
I qualified in December 2023 having completed the CELTA programme (Cambridge-accredited). I have been tutoring since then, mostly online. I also teach literacy face-to-face to learners in my neighbourhood. I am joining Italki to teach English.我提供的课程和我的教学风格
I can either chat to people informally or provide a more structured approach to aspects of language, with my background knowledge of language, and familiarity with grammar and other areas. Grammar is a particular strength and I have prepared learners for their IELTS speaking tests over the past year.我的教学资料

学士 - PhilosophyBA Honours in Philosophy, class II (ii). I took a 2-year module in Linguistics and a 1-year module in German, having studied German and French at 'A level' (16-18, UK-based qualification). Linguistics introduced me to aspects of phonetics, semantics, syntax, and so on.

Gerard is a very good teacher. My kid really enjoyed talking to him which is normally not that easy thing to happen. He will make good preparations before class and has a good sense of British humor which made him very easygoing. He has very clear pronunciations and is patient of listening to my daughter. Thank you, Gerard. Alice is lucky to have you as English teacher.
