Hello there. I'm Daniel — a native English speaker from Galway, Ireland. I have spent more than 5 years living in Japan, where I taught English at senior high schools, studied Japanese and pursued my hobby of kendo, a Japanese martial art. I get great joy from helping students become confident and curious speakers of English from a beginner level, but I am also a huge nerd for English grammar, pronunciation, writing and literature — so, if you are a more advanced student, we have lots to talk about! In my 5 years of teaching in Japanese high schools, I focused on helping beginner students acquire key skills in communicative English using games and interactive exercises, and also guided advanced students to write concisely and persuasively. Outside of class, I coached students in speech contests, debates and passing standardized tests, and even assisted Japanese teachers of English to understand complex grammar. Before living in Japan, I taught adults of various levels at language centres in Ireland, so I can adapt my teaching style to your age and ability. My academic background is in literature and philosophy, and I have an English Language Teaching certificate from ACELS.我提供的课程和我的教学风格
I believe the most important thing an English teacher can do is to speak kindly and patiently, and that is something I take into every lesson. Learning a language should be fun, engaging and free from negative feelings like embarrassment or stress — after all, that's how students learn best! As your teacher, I will adapt my lessons to your needs and language level, but I will also always remind you that it is OK to make mistakes, because making mistakes is the only way we improve. Whether it is pronunciation, grammar or vocabulary, there is always more to learn.
