I’m a native Norwegian speaker from Eastern Norway, now living on the west coast.
By day, I work as a full-stack developer. Outside of work, I teach Norwegian on YouTube and through my website, mikaelsnorwegianlessons.com, where my focus is on natural, understandable Norwegian.
I’m also a language learner myself — currently studying Japanese. Discovering comprehensible input through Japanese has strongly shaped how I teach: clear, natural Norwegian, explained simply and at a comfortable pace.教学经验
I want to make sure you're comfortable and truly enjoy our lessons, because that's at the core of taking on something as extensive as language learning. Drilling grammar works for some, but I prefer teaching it in a more natural way.
As I'm learning Japanese myself, I've discovered the most powerful way to learn is through "comprehensible input" - messages in the target language that you can actually fully understand. My goal as your teacher is making sure you really understand that you can truly learn the language in a very natural way. 我提供的课程和我的教学风格
I like making learning interactive, so I prefer working together on a Google document. This way, we can talk back and forth and write down notes, questions, test pronunciation, and eventually do small quizzes - whatever feels comfortable for you. I'm looking forward to meeting you!我的教学资料

Mikael is a very pleasant teacher. He is calm, friendly, speaks clearly, and adapts his teaching to the student's level. He creates a pleasant learning atmosphere where learning is fun and almost happens by itself. He also provides grammatical tips along the way, which contribute to better understanding. That was my third lesson with Mikael today. We talked about video transcription. We discussed my questions about it, which helped me a lot. I like the comfortable and friendly learning atmosphere and I'm already looking forward to the next one!

Mikael and I were able to establish what my goals were and he offered helpful guidance on next steps to take in order to accomplish them. Done in a relaxed environment. He made speaking Norsk feel easy.

Today was my second lesson with Mikael. We worked on a video transcription and discussed vocabulary, general usage, and grammatical features in that context.
The atmosphere is relaxed, and Mikael is very supportive and encouraging, so you feel very comfortable.
I'm already looking forward to the next lesson! I highly recommend taking lessons with Mikael!
