Hi, I’m Taka! Born and raised in Japan, I have 26 years of work experience in the Japanese media industry and hold a bachelor’s and master’s degree in mechanical engineering.
I help students master not just the language but also its cultural and business contexts. Whether you’re learning daily conversation or business Japanese, I tailor lessons to your goals!
I’ve traveled to over 30 countries - China, the U.S., Australia, England, Vietnam, France, Spain - the list goes on forever! This experience helps me connect with students from diverse backgrounds and understand the challenges of learning a new language :)

I offer five types of lessons tailored to your needs. Most lessons include personalized correction notes and advice to help you sound more like a native Japanese.
For grammar lessons, I use Minna no Nihongo and Genki, but I can accommodate other textbooks upon request. No textbook? No problem! I've prepared over 50 PowerPoint tutoring slides to support your learning from day one.我提供的课程和我的教学风格
How I Teach
- You will speak more than me while I listen and take notes - creating your own sentences is key to mastering Japanese ^ ^
- I will primarily use Japanese in class but can use English when necessary.
- My lessons are for learners 15 years and older.
- I provide guidance on the most efficient ways to learn Japanese, based on my own experience learning English online through self-study since 2016 (CEFR C1, Eiken Grade 1).

I learn something new every lesson and Taka sensei makes sure that we always revise the content of the previous lesson, which enhances my memory and it helps me make a lot of progress. I am always looking forward to our lessons. When I started this language learning journey, I thought it'd be really difficult to find ways to approach this language, but with the appropriate help, now it feels a lot more achievable. I have learned a lot from our sonkeigo & kenjougo lesson series. Keigo has been one of the most difficult subjects for me. I am thankful that Taka Sensei is always very patient and encouraging in going through the nuances and usage with me. The email/ telephone practice was challenging but is a very good practice testing your knowledge and understanding.. Not to say that I am very good with Keigo now but I have definitely levelled up. I look forward to learning business Japanese with Taka Sensei in our next series. ありがとうございました！

Thank you, Taka Sensei, for another great lesson. I am taking the 敬語 lesson package with Take Sensei and I am now learning 謙譲語. As always, Taka Sensei is professional and encouraging. Before moving on to the new material at each lesson, we started with a little review which I think is very helpful, especially on weeks that I did't have much time to study. At the beginning of a lesson, we warmed up with some 会話、I appreciate Taka Sensei correcting my spoken sentences, helping me to improve my conversational skill. My goal is to be able to speak correctly and naturally, and I am thankful I found the right teacher who would go to the details of it. I look forward to advancing my Japanese with Taka Sensei. いつも、ありがとうございます。

先生の授業はとても分かりやすく、大変勉強になります。特に、私が間違えた表現を根気強く正しい自然な日本語に直してくれるで、本当にありがたく思っています。まだ自分で話す時には自信が持てないことも多いですが、これからも先生のもとでたくさんの表現を学び、いつか流暢で自然な日本語が話せるよう頑張りたいと思います。
