Hello everyone! My name is Mykyta, and I'm a passionate student of classics from Ukraine. My academic journey has been deeply immersed in the study of ancient Greece and Rome, civilizations that continue to fascinate me with their rich history, philosophy, and cultural achievements. I believe that Latin serves as a vital bridge to understanding the foundational elements of Western culture, and it's this belief that drives my dedication to teaching. Through my lessons, I aim to make Latin accessible and engaging, helping others unlock the treasures of classical literature and thought. My approach focuses on Latin as a living language, emphasizing its relevance and beauty in today's world. My educational background is a mix of institutional education at universities of Kharkiv and Kyiv, constant autodidactic practice and advanced courses at Accademia Vivarium novum. I have been teaching Latin (and occasionaly Ancient Greek and Ukrainian) for over 2 years, using modern methodologies of language teaching. During the classes my main goal is to create a comfortable environment for learning Latin through reading and speaking. I teach Latin using so called Natural/Direct Method. It means, that we will actively use Latin from the start. But don't be afraid! It is the most effective way to acquire a language. I highly recommend my magister Nicetas, he didn't start teaching in italki for long, but he seems to be a born teacher, he explains clearly, in pure and understandable ( also elegante ) latin, so that even you are struggling at oral latin you can make progress rapidly by listening and repeat what he teached you, he also prepare for you thoughtfully exercises so you can gain a better understanding of what you've learned, he will be the one that leads you step by step into the beauty of the dreamed language, and to explore the long river of history of law and order, magnificence and glory someday.
