Hello! I'm a native Finnish speaker currently located in Finland. I have previously lived in the UK for a few years as I obtained my undergraduate degree there. I love adventures, whether it's in the form of traveling, hiking or exploring the nature. I also love learning about different cultures and languages and like to dedicate my past time to foreign language learning. My main focus has been on Korean for a few years now, but I have recently started to learn Chinese too. My other hobbies include rollerskating, sometimes a bit of drawing and I enjoy cooking as well. When I'm not too busy, I also enjoy a cup of hot chocolate with a good movie or a TV show.教学经验
I have a teaching degree in English Language and Teaching from the University of Greenwich, England, as well as a Master's degree in Multilingual Communication and Translation from Tampere University, Finland, giving me a strong knowledge base in language acquisition and efficient ways to teach a language. As a teacher, I like to create a friendly and relaxed learning environment, where my students do not have to be afraid of making mistakes. I would also encourage my students to experiment with different learning styles to find which methods motivate them the most to keep going, not forgetting to have a little fun during the process! 我提供的课程和我的教学风格
I like listening to my students and what they expect or want from the lessons, so my lessons will look a little different depending on the students' personal learning goals. But in general, we can have casual conversations, we can go over grammar points you find difficult and I can introduce you to small exercises that you can do on your own time if you want to exercise those language muscles outside of our classes. And, if you are someone who is not so sure on how to progress or what to focus on, I'd be happy to guide you to a path that will lead to improved skills.我的教学资料

Thank you, Miriam, for the very productive and interesting lessons! Thanks to the relaxed and free atmosphere, I was able to overcome my fear of speaking Finnish.
I highly recommend Miriam as a teacher to anyone who is just beginning to learn Finnish or is already learning but feels unsure about communicating with native Finnish speakers.

Thank you Miriam for a first great lesson. We managed to touch on many topics. I can highly recommend taking lessons with Miriam, she is an excellent conversationalist and from the very start she manages to dial in the balance between keeping natural flow of the discussion and still helping/giving feedback perfectly. Miriam was a very kind and nice teacher, and also knowledgeable. If you are looking for someone that can help you practice your finnish speaking skills i would lovely recommend Miriam. It was just my trial lesson with her but she did a wonderful job. I get to practice speaking to her in finnish and learn a lot of new words. I am excited on our next lesson and the next more.
