Hello, I am Motoe, originally from Osaka, Japan, and currently residing in Türkiye. With a diverse international background, I have lived in the UK, Botswana, Tokyo, and Osaka, gaining extensive multicultural experience. Also traveld to 18 countries. Professionally, I work as a freelance web graphic designer. My personal interests include handcrafting, particularly crochet, and art. I am an avid enthusiast of Japanese subculture, engaging with manga on a daily basis. I look forward to facilitating engaging Japanese language conversations centered around these shared interests.

I have been working as a Japanese teacher on italki for over one year and have conducted more than 1,600 lessons. I offer conversation-focused courses as well as structured beginner courses using textbooks. I strive to provide clear and systematic explanations, respond carefully and accurately to all student questions, and give practical, personalized feedback by identifying each learner’s strengths and areas for improvement.

Motoe has been awesome. Even after almost 3 months of not having a lesson with her, the 雰囲気 didn't change, if anything it got better! We caught up and had a really interactive time learning together. I even help her a bit with her 英語の発音 which I find so wholesome.

I had a really positive lesson. Motoe was patient, clear, and very encouraging, which helped me feel comfortable speaking even when I wasn’t confident. The lesson was well structured and matched my level perfectly, with clear explanations and useful examples. I especially appreciated how mistakes were corrected gently and clearly, and how the tutor checked my understanding throughout. I left the lesson feeling motivated and more confident, and I’m looking forward to continuing lessons.
