Hello everyone! I’m Monique, a Brazilian living in France. I help students who speak English or French to improve their Portuguese on Italki. My classes are conversational and adapted to your level, using films, music, and topics about Brazilian culture — and much more! See you in class!

I’m a biologist passionate about teaching and sharing knowledge. I’ve taught students of all ages — from children to university level — and volunteered as a biology teacher in a prep course. At Fiocruz, I trained collaborators, taught postgraduate classes, and co-mentored students. I also worked in museums, bringing science closer to people in an engaging way.

My classes focus on conversation as the main way to learn Portuguese. Grammar appears naturally, through real language use, not from a textbook. We’ll use pictures, songs, videos, and slides on topics suggested by me or by you. The goal is to learn by speaking, sharing ideas, and enjoying the process together.

Monique is super friendly and full of positive energy. You feel comfortable with her right away. She’s easy to talk to, always smiling, and really interesting to chat with. I love that she speaks French and English too, which makes communication even smoother. She genuinely adapts to your way of learning and keeps the conversation flowing naturally. Highly recommended!
